Riting is overrated.
English changes and adapts to the people and the way they talk anyway. We shouldn’t have to conform to dumb rules because by the time we are taught them, they’ve changed. Because, plus, riting good is hard.
The junior riting portfolio is unfair. It unfair because it hard. Unless your a Communication or English majer, you don’t really have to do that that much writing so: it don’t even matter for most of us. Besides, most professors, are happy as long as you’re string, of words and phrases are, spell checked.
All we need to know is that red’s bad and green means something too, but you can just ignore it – other than that, we’re good to go! If you’re smart you’d do you’re research on you’re professors and only take the ones who don’t care about grammer and stuff. Plus, once you slap together a few long quotes from articles and stuff, you only have to come up with a few paragraphs of original words and stuff in order to get passing grade.
Most of our grades are based off the little bubbles we color in on scan-trons and stuff anyway, so that should tell you how dumb riting is. We should just, get rid of the portfolio, altogether. Because the transfers, there having a hard time passing it, because they’r having to take it way to soon after they get here; plus, what if they don’t bring samples from they’re last school?
It’s not just here tho, Americans don’t need to write good ether it’s all about the internet now … the only dictionary that matters now is urban dictionary now. Now, its more important to know whats going on than being able to describe it. And if we do have to describe it, we can text, or write on someone’s wall.
Communication is about speed – not quality, it’s about how fast you can say what you want to say, not how you say it. Besides, if we were really getting a good education, we would get taught how to use technology faster and better: who cares about past particles or dangling moodifiers?
Besides, have you taken that thing? Asking about McDonalds and America, illegal immigration and preparing us for the world and stuff … it’s like, who cares!?
You think when you into a job interview, there gonna ask to see a sample of you’re writing?! Or someday, your going be making a bizzness deal with someone and there going to say, “That sounds good, but first, could you rite me a poem?”
If we wasted over sixty grand on college and all we learn is how to rite an essay, it wood be pointless! Give us a quality education, tell us the right way to shake somebody’s hand so that we can get promotions and how to make eye contact during business meetings and how to get ahead and drive Lexus someday.
Teach us how to get paid, not how to rite!
