This is Vic Chesnutt. He committed suicide this Christmas.
Vic started flirting with death over 20 years ago when he got in his car drunk. He crashed that car and was left a quadriplegic.
Since then he has been making painfully beautiful music usually centered on the subject of mortality and it's sad that it took his recent suicide for many (myself included) to take notice of his great talent.
