loudbot: I just started following this Twitter account and I'm SO glad I did. Loudbot has some of the funniest quips in the twitterverse. I don't know who started this account but I'm pretty sure it's a dude. And he only types in caps, which is usually really annoying but in this case it kind of gives his Twitter creation some personality. His bio: "HEY YOU GUYS I'M A FRIGGIN' ROBOT OK?? I'LL JUST PUT THIS PLUTONIUM IN THE SINK" His tweets are random, obscure and funny. It's not hard to pick up the social commentary nestled among the dick and fart jokes. My favorite so far? "THE COUNTRY IS HURT AND ANGRY THAT IT HAS NOT CLIMAXED."
WestWingReport: This is another anonymous account but one moderated by a White House press corps reporter who tweets directly from the White House press room.Usually random politically-related anonymous accounts are either straight up crazies, tea baggers, liberal wackos or some kind of variation thereof. But WWR's tweets are always unbiased statements of fact regarding POTUS' whereabouts, meetings and other notable things. Usually this person tweets what the president is doing at least 15 minutes BEFORE I hear about it anywhere else.
Jakel0vesyou: Jake is a student at Central Washington University. He likes tanning, Paris Hilton and guys. He has a lot of gay followers. His followers ask him some pretty outrageous questions on formspring.com. Q: "Youre like the cutest guy, why are you still single?" A: "No, I am not. And I wonder that, too."
Though I cannot understand his affinity for Paris Hilton I enjoy his tweets immensely and his responses to formspring questions are often amusing – they have helped me stave off newsroom boredom many a time ...
AllieBrosh: Allie is hands down one of the funniest people I've come across on the Internet. She is a cartoonist and blogger living in Montana and her blog, "Hyperbole and a half" is one of the best I've ever seen. She must have been one of those kids who had to entertain herself because she can take pretty much anything and make it funny. Her posts are playful and light and come across with an effortlessness only the talented can pull off.
Here's a cartoon she tried to sell to Taco Bell because she saw one of their ads and said, "That ad doesn't make me want to buy tacos at all. I could do way better than that."
