Best burger north of Cali: Miner's in Yakima

It's true. Outside of In-N-Out in California, Miner's has the best burgers on the West coast.

Think of it this way. If Hell is vegetarianism. Then Purgatory is McDonald's. That makes Miner's paradise. Add a cold beer and you've got yourself the American version of the 70 virgins!

It's not really the meat that makes the burger. It's the veggies. The big, thick cuts of tomato, onion, lettuce and pickle. Add some mayo and some really good fry sauce and you're good to go.

I'm a total epicurean. Believe me, I appreciate a juicy porterhouse with a smokey Cab, a fresh lobster tail dipped in drawn butter, home smoked Indian salmon or Russian caviar that explodes in your mouth.

So know this: Miner's burgers aren't as good as all that, but almost. And that's SAYING something for a mom and pop shop in central Wash.

Try it if you're in town. You won't be disappointed.
